Symptoms: Better than last week, but still dealing with morning/all-day sickness. Some days are better than others. Really, really REALLLLLLY ready to be done puking. Checked on Preggy Blonde and I was still feeling blegh at this time with Bella, so I guess it's to be expected. Mantra: Should get better soon, Should get better soon, Should get better soon. I'm also dealing with an epic cold (or possibly a new cold/old cold hybrid), which makes things harder. Other than that I'm doing pretty good.
What's different this time: STILL not really wearing my maternity clothes and I was 100% wearing them at this point last time. Of course, I work at home now, versus needing to look professional. That certainly makes a difference. Also different? I weigh about 15 lbs less than I did at this point in my last pregnancy. I probably need smaller maternity clothes that would fit for exactly 3 weeks, but that certainly isn't going to happen when I have beautiful ass-crack exposing sweat pants to wear. Husband is a lucky man.
Cravings/Aversions: I'm lumping these two together now that both have calmed down. Nothing stands out this week.
Sleep: Still struggling to get accustomed to sleeping on my side again. Would anyone out there recommend the Snoogle pregnancy pillow? Looks beastly, but maybe it would be worth it?
I am loving: Still on an organization kick and I was thrilled to get a bunch done over the long weekend.
I miss: Champagne. I wanted a drink last weekend on New Year's Eve as a reward for all our hard work around the house, but I had to settle for a San Pellegrino Limonata. woo, it fizzes (note purposeful lower case usage to show my feeeeeelings).
I am looking forward to: Feeling better and normal FINALLY.
I'm spazzing about: Still feeling pukey and sick. GAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Also mildly concerned I'm teaching Bella bulimia-like behaviors as I witnessed her opening her little potty and heaving into it this week.
Best moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat at the midwife appointment.
Milestones: I started sobbing inappropriately, which made Husband (and me) laugh. We were going to watch Extreme Makeover:Home Edition on Sunday because I had heard it was filmed in Fargo/Moorhead where I grew up. I got about 5 seconds into the show (quite literally) and I was already sobbing. Yes, that show induces tears, but within 5 seconds? Not so much. I was simply overcome with the thought of how touching it was all going to be. Husband wasn't going to let me continue to watch it, but I promised I would calm down. And I was able to get my sobbing down to a respectable tears-running-down-my-face-the-whole-time level. Ah, hormones.
Movement: Yes, feeling it regularly.
It's a...: Surprise for now.
Exercise: Got a couple treadmill walks in (easy 3.5 mph w/low incline as I get back into it), which was still less than I was hoping for, but decent considering I had a couple rough days feeling really sick with my cold/nausea. I spoke with the midwife about running again when I feel better and she said it would be fine since I ran regularly before getting getting on the vomit comet. I think I might do the couch-to-5K workout to get back to my previous level. Seems weird to start that while pregnant, but I feel comfortable with it. I'm also itching to do some Zumba-like workouts. Might get a DVD on Netflix and attempt to do it with Bella.
Diet: OK, but I could do better with my vegetables. I think this will be easier once I'm cooking regularly and the evening nausea is done.
Goals for the upcoming week: Work out 4 times, get 'household binder' put together for increased organization
Belly Shot:

Um, I think I'd die without my Snoogle. At our house, we call it the Snoodle (because I find this strangely hilarious) and it totally takes over our bed. Whatever. So worth it.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm too lazy to click over to Preggy Blonde, but when did you start feeling better with Bella? I thought most vomiting stopped when you hit the 2nd trimester?
ReplyDeleteHopefully you get off the vomit train soon!
KT - I was feeling halfway better by second trimester (similar to this time), but wasn't done puking until 18 weeks. MANY women feel better by 12 weeks, but some don't. Just like MANY women have their babies before 41 weeks, but some don't.
ReplyDeleteI am in the magical minority for both these situations. WHEEEEEEE!
What's annoying, though, is that my brain gets all hung up on things like 12 weeks=feel better and 40 weeks=have baby by now, so when it doesn't happen I get irritating and despondent.
But I'm in the magical minority. WHEEEEEEEEE!
Um, VPL? Is this a new hip term I don't know, just like when one of my students wrote idk on their worksheet? Their worksheet!
ReplyDeleteAlly - VPL is visible panty line. I can't remeber where I first saw that...Seventeen? Or the nasty gross Cosmo? It's been in my vernacular for over a decade, though, so you didn't miss any hip new term!
ReplyDeleteOoh! You're really starting to show. How exciting!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVPL's from Annie Hall! Love it.
